Golmania, Food Distributions, and a Stealing Dog - Jessica Fox

Hey y'all it's Jessica from the team,

First, let me tell y'all it is gorgeous here!!! I look around at the mountains and am in awe because of what our amazing God has created. Along with meeting the kids at the HLC (Honduran Life Center) we went and distributed food to nine families in a village. It was enough food for 20 days. This was a truly humbling experience, and I loved getting to meet the families and hear a little about their stories. The women are truly incredible women and all they do for their family is so inspiring.

We also enjoyed a church service at the Rock of Salvation. It was truly incredible to see how another place worships. One thing I really enjoyed was that the Pastor went out to the crowd and let the congregation pray. Hearing the worship music in spanish was really cool! To hear songs that I know in english sung in Spanish was awesome, and to see the HLC kids there was an added bonus.

The food here is also amazing! For breakfast and dinner we ate at the restaurant located on the resort and we enjoyed eggs, tortillas with cheese and salsa, fresh fruits, beans and fried plantains for breakfast. For dinner we had fish with vegetables, mashed potatoes, cucumber salad and rolls, and dessert was a really good cake! Yes y'all they bring you dessert after dinner, it is amazing. Then for lunch we ate at Golmania. The chicken and fried plantain chips with refried beans were better than I expected.

In others news, there is a golden retriever that is on the property and likes to come into our rooms and steal shoes. There is a shoe on the lose and if y'all see it please let us know ASAP. The dog is cute on the outside but a shoe thief on the inside!!!! I am so excited to see what day two holds.

Peace out and check in tomorrow for on whats happening in Honduras!!!!
