HEY FRIENDS!
We are in HONDURAS!
Thank you for your patience in an update - we are at our hotel and finally found a spot for Wifi. :)
Yesterday we all met at the airport at a bright and sunny 5AM, and after a few complicated logistic fixes, we were on our way! The CIN staff and interns who are serving all summer greeted us at the San Pedro Sula airport, and we stopped for lunch at 'Power Chicken' - this is a buffet style lunch spot that has been compared to great restaurants such as Chick-fil-A and Viva Chicken. We felt right at home!
We settled into our hotel and had a brief orientation, where we were lucky to spend time with John and Maritza Hernandez - the founders of CIN.
After dinner, we had the cool opportunity to attend ECHO NIGHT - a youth event put on by CIN's partner church here in Peña Blanca. Dany Alvarenga - CIN's multimedia coordinator - is the church's youth pastor and led the event. A few of the Honduras Life Center kids were there too, and it was so fun to see sponsors on our team reunited with their kiddos!
We are up early today to head out for Home Visits/Food Distributions in a nearby town, and tonight we will head back to church for the official service.
We so appreciate every single one of you who have been praying fervently for our team! We will send updates again as soon as possible!
